You can use cdj 1000 with Serato, but you will need an SL1 or 3 box something that works with timecode cd.. The pitch control on the MK3 is actual very good. up to 100% in .05 increments and the platters run with little to no lag. To summarize, you don't need to spend the 1000+ dollars on a 900nxs to get HID, HID isn't really ideal. Stick with your CDJ1000mk3s and get that Serato sound card or traktor if you're into that. You could get a Z2 mixer and a Seratobox that way you get midi too (just search midi map seratodj z2 mixer on google).

For serato, the Akai AMX costs $250, but also requires a $99 DVS license to use as a dvs mixer. The DJM 250 mkii is a much better mixer, but there have been wide reports that the vinyl preamps are pretty poor. I have used traktor scratch with timecode on cdj 1000 mk3 for years.
